Don't wait for a better tomorrow.. Everything is here in the now!

As a child happiness seemed effortless and easy and when I began growing being happy turned into a complicated process because it started getting harder and harder! Problems existed when I was a kid, problems exist now in adulthood too, so what changed? I did! I started thinking.. Thinking became my full time job as an adult, I went one level ahead and became an overthinker!

Everytime a problem occured, I would subconsciously think about how easy it was back when I was young.. Who wouldn't want a shift in their moods as quickly as it used to be back then?! The issue here does not lie in the phase life or in the type or intensity of problems experienced but rather in how one sees it. A child can easily get back to a healthy mental state because they don't think too much, they think about what they want with undivided attention. They remember to get back to the original state of mind but we don't. By giving our problems too much attention, we forget to get back to our original state of mind which is characterized by love and love only.

In an adult's life there's always this part of us that's hoping for a better tomorrow. While hoping for better things someday may seem positive in comparison to people in despair, it still is not something we deserve. We deserve to be happy in the now. Now is all that we will ever have and life is all about the journey and not the destination; These are words I've heard people tell or read from somewhere, these sayings were boring to me I kept expecting new words to make a change in me. Trust me, all we need hear is already packed in these simple words, we like to complicate things which is why we search for new. Words can change but the change that they aim at making in you is all the same. These sayings, however differently worded, are simply trying to get you to feel complete right this moment.

There are so many things we've always wanted since a very young age and some or most of them might have materialized. Those things might have given us a momentary spark of happiness but they have failed to give us a permanent state of happiness. Don't pin your happiness on the future or on anything external. The things or people or whatever you're craving for already exist within you. If you don't feel complete now, there are high chances that you are going to be this same person even after you manifest your most desired future. So the belief that we will become happy after something happens externally is just a lie we tell ourselves. Let us make a choice to be happy. Yes, after going through a lot, this is what I have come to realize. It is a choice and when others told me this, I did not understand and I thought to myself that they had an inherent ability to think like that and that I did not. But understanding this takes time, I guess. Don't wait for a better tomorrow, feel whole here and in the now! I end my blog here today with lots of love.
