Marry yourself before you marry another.
What do I mean?
Develop a good relationship with yourself before you rope in another person into your life because when you do the latter before the former, it would end up being a lesson. In any kind of relationship, the other person facilitates your spiritual growth knowingly or unknowingly. A relationship is not about dependency, it rather is about your ability to embrace another person, give them their space to grow not to modify them according to your expectations. In order to do this, one must feel complete and whole by themselves. The idea of another person completing you, doesn't work on a long term basis. So marry yourself before you marry another!
